
Kathmandu – Former Foreign Minister and CPN-UML spokesperson Pradeep Kumar Gyawali has said that the psychology that the media creates in people will shape public opinion.
Inaugurating the three-day ‘Basic Communication Skills Workshop on Journalism’ organized by the Madan Bhandari Foundation, Gyawali pointed out that it is necessary to consciously identify fake news at the right time, saying that anti-government elements are currently trying to spread confusion in the media. Speaking at the program, Gyawali said that such workshops on journalism will enhance the capacity of professional journalism and said that the work being done by the Madan Bhandari Foundation to enhance the capacity of journalists is worth learning and exemplary.
In-charge of the Nepal Sports Federation and former Minister for Youth and Sports Dawa Lama said that the capacity building program for journalists for sports journalism needs to be continuous. He expressed happiness that the recent work of the Sports Federation has progressed very well and wished that the Federation can move forward further so that the sports sector can realize new and exemplary work.
At the program, Devendra Subedi, a member of the Nepal Sports Journalists Forum, informed about the basic concepts related to sports and journalism and the current practices.
In the three-day workshop, Nepal Sports Federation President Ramesh Poudel, First President Govinda Bhattarai, Secretary of the Madan Bhandari Foundation Pemba Lama, Prof. Dr. Kundan Aryal, Ghanashyam Koirala, Milan Dharel and others will provide training on journalism to the students.
The trainees will be provided training on various topics related to sports journalism in the workshop.
